HOW TO USE CRIME PREVENTION THROUGH ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN FOR SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS

Crime – burglary, robbery and vandalism and the like can be particularly devastating to small businesses in terms of money, customers, time and employee safety.
In this discussion, attendees will learn about Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) can protect their small business’ assets, as well as their employees and customers. CPTED is based on the proper principle that proper design and effective use of buildings and public spaces can lead to a reduction in the fear and incidence of crime, and an improvement in the quality of life for citizens and small business owners.  The basic concept is to create an unfriendly environment for the criminal element.
